Introducing a Groundbreaking Wine: The First-Ever Dişi Mercan Wine of Türkiye

At 502 Vineyards, our mission has always been to celebrate and preserve the rich winemaking heritage of our region, bringing forgotten local grape varieties back to life. Today, we are thrilled to introduce a truly groundbreaking wine—the first-ever bottle crafted from the indigenous Dişi Mercan grape of Amasya.

A Heritage Rediscovered

Dişi Mercan is a rare and ancient grape variety native to the Amasya region, known for its delicate floral aromas and lively acidity. Despite its historical presence, this grape had never before been cultivated for winemaking—until now. Through meticulous vineyard care and a dedication to small-batch, artisanal winemaking, we have transformed Dişi Mercan into a vibrant, aromatic white wine that showcases the unique terroir of our land.

Winemaking & Aging Process

  • Grape Variety: 100% Dişi Mercan

  • Fermentation: Stainless steel to preserve freshness and purity

  • Aging: 4 months on lees, adding texture and complexity

Our minimal-intervention approach allows the natural character of the grape to shine, creating a wine that is both expressive and true to its origins.

Tasting Notes

This zesty and aromatic white wine greets the senses with floral undertones and a crisp minerality, leading to a clean and refreshing finish. Its lively acidity and elegant texture make it a perfect match for:

A Milestone for Turkish Winemaking

This release marks a historic first for Turkish viticulture, proving that our native grape varieties have the potential to produce exceptional, world-class wines. We invite wine lovers, connoisseurs, and adventurers to be part of this exciting journey—tasting history in a glass.
